Thunderbird hand gun weapon by Colin-Ashcroft Thunderbird hand gun weapon by Colin-Ashcroft
This was a design for a challenge to design a handgun which somehow incorporated a skull of some kind.

the designed incorporates a small form of grenade launcher on the bottom, a normal barrel and a sniper barrel on top.

Hmmm. I think a tad, maybe a pinch more gun needs to go into this masterpiece.

Hey thanks! Some people seem to really like it and some people seem to get tied up in the technicalities of the design.....telling me that it would not work!

Either way, I appreciate all comments. They inspire!

Take care.

Sure, it might not work because the cannon is not in line with the switch that pulls the thingy that makes the wheels turn counter clock wise...WHO CARES. Let the engineers figure that one out. It's Fantasy and Sci Fi!!!

The decorative elements and the integration of these into the design is what I love about it.

Awesome. That gun has a bit of everything... except a bayonet. I recommend adding a bayonet. ;)

Very impressive great work :) My only question is how would one load this >.> the main part I would assume loads as any revolver would but what about the grenade and sniper parts?

And are there really two triggers within the main trigger gaurd? That looks awesome! love the hoop trigger lol

Thanks for your comments,I really appreciate them. My idea was the grenade was loaded from the end of the barrel, pulling the handle down on the lower jaw of the skull which in turn compresses a spring.

Yes there are two triggers at the bottom, one for the normal revolver and one to release the spring for the small grenade launcher. the sniper barrel would be loaded from the side you can't see via single bolt action. The trigger is in the form of a sort of a grenade launcher trigger situated just above the actual trigger!

Oooo Alright, I thought the jaw handle was for firing the grenade (like most grenade launchers) and the second trigger could be for the sniper, i just wasnt sure how the second trigger was connected to the sniper... wich is because it isnt lol. But I see how the hoop thinger on the sniper barrel could be a trigger too. haha awesome

Yes, I did investigate the ideas you mention haha. Thought I would make it a little more primitive so the grenade launcher was not completely the same as a modern one, as I had based my idea on an old revolver. I might in future for fun create a more modern weapon based on this one!

Hi, thanks for your comment. It was completely created in photoshop using photoshop brushes.

I did a fair amount of research first looking at all manner of weapons, traditionally drew lots of thumbnails to find the direction I wanted to go in. Then I started fresh in photoshop. Big brush first not bothering with detail, get the overall form right. Then start to render it. finally I added colour and textures with brushes! Hope this helps.
